This Department is in existence since the inception of Humanities Departments in this College. Almost every year, the Department produces toppers in the University examinations and can boast of producing toppers in the post – graduate course in NBU Many of our students are teaching in different Govt. and Govt. - sponsored colleges

Library:- Central Library and Departmental Library.

Computer:-One Computer is available in the Department with Internet facility.

PARTICIPATION OF TEACHERS IN ACADEMIC AND PERSONAL COUNSELING OF THE STUDENTS:

The teachers share a friendly relationship with the students. They encourage the students to perform better by providing additional study materials. The Faculty members also counsel the students on their personal issues ,help them understand themselves, acquaint them with their hidden talents and help them try to be good Human beings.

PRIORITY AREAS FOR RESEARCH:

Areas of Research: Medieval India, Mughal India and Modern India.

PLACEMENT:

The students of the department who have qualified in the NET and SLET examinations are currently teaching in colleges as full time and part time teachers.[Approx 15]

Others have been appointed in different schools through SSC and PSC examinations.
