(b)NATIONAL CADET CORPS: The N.C.C sub- unit (Army wing )was introduced in 1954.Presently there is only one company of 160 cadets (both boys and girls). Previously there were two companies (one both boys and one girls) but in 2004,the boys company(1/13 beng Bn.) was transformed into a mixed company . The objective of N.C.C is to prepare a readily available group of cadets in order to help the unit authorities at the time of natural disaster, warfare etc and also to render social service like plantation, blood donation, traffic control ,first aid ,health awareness , literacy campaign etc. Enrolment : Any students of class xi to first year may be enrolled if he /she is physically fit .The Enrolment is held usually injune/july every year. Enrolment fees is Rs.19 .00. Class the classes are held twice a week : saturday and Wednesday from 2-00P.M to 4 P.M. The eligible cadets are given special facilities in army recruitments. They can attend camps at Government expenses .Moreover, they are given a little amount of money as refreshment allowance and washing allowance. The cadets with good academic records can enjoy scholarship, the minimum amount being Rs.12000 and maximum being Rs.40,000. every cadet’s life is insured and in case of accident, the Cadets Welfare Society gives the insured money . A 'C' certificate holder, otherwise eligible , may be sent to S.S.B. directly for recruitment in the Army (Commissioned Rank ).The cadets are given some non-returnable clothing. Every year, at least 5 students join different military and para-military forces
